Coach Chris Carroll

Chris's passion for soccer started many years ago as he played soccer for Madeley College in Staffordshire, England. It was here that he gained his first coaching qualification with the English Football Association. After graduating from Madeley Chris went on to begin his life long career focusing within the youth soccer sector. He has since introduced soccer programs to hundreds of schools in the United Kingdom and the United States. His curriculum has always focused on getting it right early to instill good habits and of course to always make it fun.
Career moves between the UK and USA has seen Chris take up many roles in youth soccer including director of operations, competitive club coach, and club director. For the last seventeen years Chris has proudly been co owner of Carroll Sports Academies right here in Knoxville. CSA has introduced soccer to thousands of youth players in schools and communities in England and the United States. Eight of those years being here in Knoxville, Chris has had great influence in local schools bringing his soccer programs to youth students and players.

Coach David Chandler

Born in Dayton, Ohio to British parents, David inherited his passion for soccer from his father who was an avid player, coach, and fan. David started playing at the age of three and has never stopped! He played club ball for the Dayton Galaxies (now the Ohio Galaxies). Many Chandler family vacations were centered around soccer tournaments played throughout central and eastern US. David was a four-year varsity letterman at West Carrollton High School, where he earned conference, area, and state accolades. During his senior year, he was honored as a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American. David has experience assisting with coaching youth teams and training high school teams in West Carrollton, OH.
David continued to play competitive club and recreational soccer during and after college. He earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and M.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Tennessee. When David isn’t coaching with Carroll Sports Academies, he is a reactor physicist research and development staff member and team lead at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. David is happy to be part of the CSA team, giving him the opportunity to coach and build confidence in young soccer players. He absolutely loves sharing his passion for the game with his wife, his two boys, and all the kids he coaches at CSA.

Coach Gerry Boquin
Coach Gerry was born and raised in Honduras, Central America, where he has many childhood memories playing soccer in the street with his neighborhood friends. He came to the USA in 2002 to work for Louisiana State University, earning his M.Sc. in Geography. During his college years, Coach Gerry served as an assistant coach for LSU’s Women Soccer Club. Coach Gerry brings with him a wealth of knowledge and mentorship through his experience coaching sports teams for many years in the Knoxville area. Coach Gerry and his wife, Mandy, have lived in Knoxville for the past 11 years and have 3 school aged children. Off the field, Coach Gerry enjoys CrossFit-style workouts and is a big believer that in addition to health benefits, sports can also create a platform to help kids learn important life and team skills.
